THE JOURNEY FOR YOUR CLASSIC AUTOMOBILE ENDS HERE
About the Quest
WELCOME E-mail
 Welcome to QuestClassics.com !!

Each week we are working toward our goal of building the nation's largest collection of exclusively pre-restoration classic automobiles by adding new listings, making new contacts and working toward our objective of creating a "donor" source for your automotive projects. Be sure to see our NEWS & UPDATES link at the bottom of this page for new ways that we are enhancing our operation and building a networking community of automotive design and restoration.

Our motto, The Journey For Your Classic Automobile Ends Here™, is only half the story. The truth is, the image, the visions, and the life you give these automobiles is eternal. They will outlive us all and their immortality will transcend generations to come.

The Journey For Your Classic Automobile Ends Here™, but your moment of artistic talent has just arrived.

STORY BEHIND THE QUEST E-mail

1937 MERCEDES

Normally in this feature article we focus on a automobile with a remarkable story behind it. This feature can also be taken to represent the story we went through in finding the hiden treasure.

Many times we get into the car and set out on some long road trip to meet with new contacts or search for hidden classics.

One day, we were discussing our find on one such long quest with a neighbor and he got this questioning look on his face. "I asume you know about the cars right up the street?"

We all looked at each other and thought, what cars? Right around the corner from where we were standing were not one, but two, classic Mercedes. Both are solid, despite surface rust and would make excellent donors for almost any project.

So there in lies the reminder that we all must keep in our minds. Some of the greatest finds in life are the ones right under your nose. And I suppose we aren't just talking about classic automobiles.

So maybe we should start asking the question similar to Capitol One when they ask, "What's in your wallet?"

Only ours will be, "What's in your garage?"

Price: Buy them both for just $2,300

NEW MARKETPLACE E-mail

As we mentioned above, we are in the process of adding a new Marketplace section to our site that will allow YOU the option to list your pre-restoration classics for FREE.

We apologize for the current confusion, but we have to break the egg to make the omlette.

Check back every week, as our new Marketplace and listings will have dozens of new entries !!

  AUTO VOLANTA 1939 CADILLAC REDESIGN

In this latest redesign by Auto Volanta, they have taken a 1939 four-door hard top sedan and converted it into a more desirable two-door convertible or open roadster.

Now, we were in love with this Caddy when we first saw it and we are even more in love with the idea of not only having the classic Caddy, but also to have the open breeze combined with the head turning looks when we compete restoring the car. Just another option to consider when you are going to be rebuilding from the ground up anyway!

Using a process that they use exclusively, they are able to strengthen the body and chassis support so that without the top, the Cadillac still maintains its strength.

This and other designs are featured on their web site. They are currently in the process of finishing their redesign of the 1966 Impala 396 Super Sport that was featured here last month.

RESTORATION ROAD E-mail

1932 PACKARD

AUGUST UPDATE ~ IT'S DONE !!

We just received the final pictures from Jerry on the finished project and are they every amazing! Take a moment and go through all the shots. They did an incredible job bringing this one back to life.

The "official" start of QuestClassics.com, there was always the effort to assist old automobiles in finding new homes and a new life.

One such listing on those early pages, was that of a 1932 Packard that we matched up with a couple of visionary guys that looked at an old relic and saw a pristine beauty. The old 1932 Packard has been out of our eye sight for months, but we are begining to get back in a new set of photos that tell the story of the ground-up restoration that it is going through. Photos of this project can be found here in our Restoration Road Gallery.

As it is always better to hear the story first-hand, and their hard work and effort has certainly entitled them to the spotlight, here is their story told by them.

John,

After selling my 1940 Packard 110 Sedan, my friend, Dale and I went on a quest to find the perfect project for restoration. I had previously found the old ’32 Sedan on the Auto Volanta website that your brother Steve had. After a phone call and price agreement, Dale and I set out to Carson City, Nevada to take a look at her. We took along a good size trailer, just in case we decided to bring the old girl home. After a night at Tony’s house (Dale’s childhood friend) and an evening at the local casino, we drove to the site where the car was being “stored” outside. The poor thing had been in the same place for over 20 years and the license plate read ’54, which meant it had sat “somewhere” for over 50 years.
